Beth Barnard (soprano) sings with an extraordinary quality that is a delight to hearers around the world. She is most frequently heard on recordings published by the Wilds Christian Association and Sacred Music Services, both located in the upstate of South Carolina.
Beth began her music studies in her church choir while still in grade school and went on to study at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. There she performed in several university opera productions including the role of Inez in Il Travatore, and was the soprano soloist in the 1999 production of Mozart’s Requiem.
Her emphasis on communicating brought many solo opportunities on campus and while traveling with University choirs in Europe. She was honored by the University with a 1990 Commencement Award and also received the 1988 and 1993 National Association of Teachers of Singing Awards.
Recently she taught voice as an adjunct at Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, Florida and participated as soprano soloist in their 2003 production of Poulanc’s Gloria and their 2005 production of Faure’s Requium.
She frequently sings at ladies gatherings and other Christian venues and also operates a voice studio out of her home in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where she lives with her husband and five-year-old son. Perhaps she is best known for her 2000 recording Joy Overflowing, a collection of sixteen fully orchestrated songs of hope and encouragement.
